Classic summer mountain getaways

So I've done few long trips as shakedown runs, but Friday morning starts a big one. I'm going to take advantage of the 3 day weekend, and do a mini Moto2our.

I had originally planned on a ride to Boston and back for the 4th. But weather and the forced need to go straight on through in one shot have killed that. The new plan is to leave Friday morning, take a route through Gettysburg, Harrisburg, Scranton (through the Poconos) and end up in the Catskills Friday night.

Saturday morning I'll leave the Catskills, do a loop up and through the Adirondacks. I plan on hitting Lake Placid, so I can see a ski jump in person. Supposedly they're amazing. I hear you can also take bobsled run, even in summer. If that's true, I'm on it. From there I'll stop somewhere on the way back. Best case scenario, I'll make it back to the Poconos. Worst case, I'll stop in the Catskills. Either way, I'll be smack in the middle of Americana. Lucille Ball's summer home and Shecky Green comedy routines in the lodge.

The route I have planned only has 3-4 hours of interstate highway over 26 hours of riding overall. Should make for an interesting trip. All in all, I'm looking at 1300 miles in 3 days. It's aggressive, to be sure. Each day will need to be probably 10 hours on the moto, and over 400 miles. If i don't make Lake Placid, though, I'll be bummed.
